That Sober Guy Podcast

My name is Shane Ramer. As long as I was high I didn't have to feel. Drugs took the pain away, and to be honest, I liked being high. I thought I was cool. I even had a nickname, 'Cocaine Shane'. I'm a regular dude from the suburbs in Northern California. After 17 years of struggling with drugs and alcohol, for the first time in my life I took a stand for something. I didn't care what anyone would say. I didn't care what anyone would think. I went to rehab and got sober September 11th, 2013. Now I talk to people about addiction, alcoholism, recovery, and more. If I can do it, you can do it too. Check us out at www.ThatSoberGuy.com

Scotty and Mel Aaron quit their jobs, sold their house, and decided to take a year off to explore the country in a VW Van. In this episode, Scotty, Mel, The Jess and Shane discuss what it takes to step out, take a chance, and do something out of your comfort zone. Whether it's trying to get sober, or travel the country on an adventure, stepping out and letting a higher power guide you to your purpose is something everybody should experience. The crew also talk some trash and laugh quite a bit. After all, what would life be without laughter and fun? Rule 62...Don't take yourself so damn serious!

Jess and I would like to thank Scotty and Mel for their friendship, their inspiration, their laughter, and their selfless love for all of their family, friends, and strangers they have met along the way. We love you guys and wish you the best on your adventure.
